These documents are designed to help housing associations make sure they are properly governed. This includes issues like recruiting and appointing board members, making sure the organisation operates to high standards of probity and protects public investment, and ensuring equal opportunities.

  • Housing Corporation circular 'Internal controls assurance' (number 25/01) sets out our requirements with regard to board assurance on internal control. The circular replaces the previous Code of Audit Practice and various circulars, and places responsibility on housing associations to determine how their boards obtain assurance on internal control.
