The National Affordable Housing Programme 2006-08 Prospectus details how the Corporation will consider allocations to rural schemes. This will be based on the priorities set down in Regional Housing Strategies. Allocations will be made in line with the targets agreed in Regional Housing Strategies.

Although many rural schemes will be delivered through its mainstream partnering route, the Corporation has made provision within its specialist route for allocations to be made in support of rural housing schemes.

The Housing Corporation's Rural Settlement Gazeteer (2005) will help those considering bringing forward schemes for the provision of rural housing.
