The Housing Corporation has announced that it has removed Croydon Peoples Housing Association from supervision, following a series of improvements.
The Corporation placed Croydon Peoples, which manages around 350 homes in South London, under supervision in July 2003 because of concerns around governance and management. The Corporation used its statutory power to make three appointments to the Board of the Association.
The Association has made substantial progress in addressing the Corporation's concerns and the statutory appointments have been discontinued.
Housing Corporation Director of Regulation and Best Value, Derek King, said: 'We are pleased with the progress which Croydon Peoples has made and we are grateful to the appointees for demonstrating skill and commitment in working with the Association's Board to achieve the necessary improvements'.
