Recent policy recognises the role young people have in community stability and prosperity. Tenant involvement is an integral part of HAs' business and HAs are expected to ensure that young people have the same opportunities to participate as older tenants. Similarly the National Strategy for Neighbourhood Renewal points to the need to consider young people's housing needs in government spending reviews and to listen to and consult with young people as part of Best Value reviews.
