Challenging Regulatory Judgements

Challenging Regulatory Judgements

The process outlined here is intended to deal with challenges to the judgements which the Corporation makes in its general regulatory activities. These judgements are the product of the routine management of our regulatory engagement with housing associations.

From time to time, associations may believe that these judgements are flawed for a variety of reasons. These judgements can be difficult to make, and are sometimes finely balanced. This formal process allows us to reconsider these judgments in a structured way.

This process allows challenges to be made and considered by us on a consistent basis, is intended to be accessible and fair to housing associations, allowing them to make representations to us about our judgements where they believe them to be flawed. It is not intended to be judicial in nature, but will ensure that due process is observed when associations make challenges.

With certain exceptions, this process covers the Housing Corporation's regulatory engagement as it is set out in "Our Regulatory Engagement with Housing Associations".
