30 Sep 1995

Distributed to: All registered housing associations (excluding co-ownership societies) and local authorities.

Summary: Advises associations of the Grant Rates which will apply from 1 April 1996.

This Circular, together with Circular F2-19/95, replace Circulars F2-17/91, F2-19/91, F2-36/92, F2-27/93 and, from 1 April 1996, F2-27/94 and F2-30/94. (However, these Circulars will continue to be used in connection with schemes which received Project Approval/Grant Confirmation in the relevant years).

1. Introduction

1.1 The Grant Rates which will apply to housing associations schemes sponsored by the Corporation or by local authorities and receiving Grant Confirmation on or after 1 April 1996 have now been determined by Ministers. Full details are set out in look-up tables which, together with advice on their use, are included in the Guidance Notes.

2. Grant Rates

2.1 The Minister's decision is a national average grant rate of 58%.

2.2 Within this average, the matrix of grant rates for individual types and locations of property has been updated to take account of the TCI changes (previously issued in Circular F2-19/95) and of latest evidence on both associations' running costs and of the incomes of households being allocated housing association tenancies.
