Learning from Problem Cases II

A report of an independent assessment of a further selection of supervision cases. It is designed to help associations to learn from the mistakes of others, and to assist the Housing Corporation to improve its problem spotting and regulatory intervention role.

The report is produced by the Housing Corporation in accordance with its statutory duties to regulate and supervise housing associations and to assist in promoting effective performance. It comprises a study of 18 supervision cases, highlights appropriate lessons from the individual cases, and provides an analysis of overall conclusions. The aims are to draw out lessons to help avoid problems in the future, assist associations to tackle and resolve difficulties, test the effectiveness of the Corporation as regulator, and help the Corporation to develop problem diagnosis and intervention strategies.
