Individual Rights vs Social Responsibility

Tuesday 29 Apr 2008
Venue: Regents College Conference Centre
Availability: Still available

Supported housing now spans numerous government agendas requiring it to embrace many specialist areas of the law. However the law relating to supported housing has no specific legal framework and is particularly complex.

Providers face the daily dilemma of promoting the rights of individuals whilst protecting vulnerable service users in a community based setting. This conference is a unique opportunity for practitioners, lawyers and academics to come together and openly debate these issues and understand how the law applies to supported housing.

Why Attend?

Delegates will learn about the legal framework that practitioners are expected to work within when providing supported housing services. Practitioners will understand the legal requirements associated with specific areas of supported housing provision.  Lawyers and academics will appreciate the challenges of providing services in a supported housing setting.  Debate will inform how policy personnel can influence the emerging law and policy agenda.

Who Should Attend?

Supported Housing Providers, Solicitors and Barristers, Local Authority personnel including Supporting People, Policy Officers and Health and Social Care Providers and Academics.
