Promoting Respect - Tackling nuisance behaviour
Anti-social behaviour has long been a concern for communities and service providers across the country. Members of the public have been complaining for many years about a range of nuisance behaviour, ranging from graffiti and noisy neighbours to more criminal matters, such as serious harassment. Many of these complaints are made to housing providers as well as to the police and local authorities.
We recognise the devastating impact that antisocial behaviour can have on individuals and the wider community and believe that housing providers have a key role to play in tackling this problem. We intend to work with housing associations to tackle issues such as criminal damage, harassment and noise nuisance and to attempt to create a culture of Respect in our neighbourhoods.
