Investment Futures - the role of the private sector in affordable housing
A Session at Housebuilding 2006 Conference, Islington Business Design Centre, London.
The Housing Corporation invests around £2 billion a year in affordable homes and funds the construction of one out of every six new houses in England.
Our largest ever investment programme in 2006-08 of nearly £4 billion was open for the first time to private developers. Among those who received Housing Corporation investment to build affordable homes were Barratt, Persimmon, First Base and Wimpey.
Now the Corporation is looking at a radical modernisation of its future investment programme which includes rewarding the very best partners with increased access to Housing Corporation funding over the next three years and greater flexibilities and freedoms.
There will be a briefing session on 11 October at 1.00 in Gallery Bay 5 to discuss how companies can secure a share of our multi-billion pound investment programme, explain our new approach to investment and how the private sector has a vital role to play in speeding up supply of affordable homes and improve value for money, whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.
This briefing session has limited space available so please reserve your space by emailing your acceptance with your name and company name to deborah.slaughter@housingcorp.gsx.gov.uk
