Applications for the Gold Award 2007 were invited under the following two themes:

Environmental sustainability
Recognising the absolute imperative of protecting our natural resources for the security of future generations, winners of Gold Awards for environmental sustainability will have done the most to reduce their impact on the environment, while providing homes that are more efficient and cheaper to run.

Empowering communities
Recognising that housing associations can play a pivotal role in building and supporting vibrant and sustainable communities, winners in this theme will have done more than provide homes. They will have helped people in local communities to achieve what they want from their lives.
