Reporting Efficiencies

There is no longer a requirement for associations to submit a standalone statement of efficiencies (known as an Annual Efficiency Statement, or AES). Instead, associations should use their annual self assessment compliance statement (SACS) to:

  • confirm the figures from their predicted efficiency gains from 2007/08 that were reported in their 2007 AES
  • report actual gains achieved during this period.

Predicted gains for 2008/09 are not required.

Further information can be found in How We Regulate 3:Self assessment compliance statements, including statement of efficiency gains.

Previous publications and briefings on efficiency and annual efficiency statements can be found below. These no longer directly link to our requirements, but they have been retained as they provide useful information on the efficiency agenda, and practical advice on identifying and calculating efficiencies.
