This report is based on the findings from an evidence review aimed at establishing what is known about social fragmentation within English housing estates and deprived neighbourhoods. It also identifies gaps in that knowledge, in order to inform a future research agenda. Particular emphasis was placed on identifying evidence of the way in which social fragmentation interacts with community cohesion, community safety, and neighbourhood policing.
