Sector study: Meeting the Decent Home Standard
This study reports the results of a survey of housing associations on their progress towards meeting the Decent Home Standard by 2010. The research was carried out and presented by Trimmer CS on behalf of the Housing Corporation. The study reveals that housing associations are generally responding positively to Decent Homes, with the majority working to standards higher than the minimum Decent Home requirements: a level commonly referred to as Decent Home Plus. In addition, tenants play a central role in influencing housing associations’ Decent Home programmes, and the Standard has motivated associations to improve the quality of their stock condition data. The study concludes positively that the vast majority of HA stock is on track to meet the Decent Home Standard by 2010.Sector Study: Decent Home Standard
