Building, maintaining and managing housing is an expensive business. Housing associations spend billions of pounds every year on developments and improving around 2 million social homes in England.
Any ways in which housing providers can achieve better value for the money spent must be good news for housing associations, for residents and for the sector as a whole.
The winners
In 2006 two partnerships of housing associations were presented with Gold Awards for Excellence ni recognition of the cutting-edge work they have been doing to improve efficiency, modernise the way they build homes and reduce the costs of maintaining their stock to ever increasing standards.
