The list of new PIs was publicised in mid August 2006, and the first year of data published under the new suite will be that based on the RSR for 31 March 2007, the CORE logs collected for the year to 31 March 2007, and the FVA for year ends up to 31 March 2007.

A number of questions have been received in the meantime, and are used as the basis for providing additional clarification. In addition, we can add more clarity to the dates of introduction and ‘handover’ for some of the PIs.

Questions and Answers on the New Performance Indicator Suite

We have continued to review the proposals in the light of our general strategies, and are making a small adjustment to a couple of the PIs to encompass a wider range of stock, and where possible to utilise to better effect the existing Status questions until we can develop new ones.

Although the number of PIs has reduced, the Regulatory Code refers in a number of places to the need for associations to monitor their performance, continuous improvement, benchmark performance against others, and to publish information about this to their stakeholders.

Changes in, or reductions to, the national PIs makes no difference to this obligation.

On the PI website for 2007, the data available will again include PIs, contextual information about the association(s), and national performance figures. This will include data for some of the former PIs on the site, where the data is still collected, for benchmarking purposes.
