In the 12 months since last years' Northern Housing Summit, the economic and environmental agenda has been turned on its head. The ambitious housebuilding targets are now open to question; new mortgage levels are at their lowest in a generation, and yet the demand for new affordable homes hasn't disappeared. We are living in very uncertain times but the changing demands placed on housing and planning authorities, public and private sector landlords, means that there is an even greater need to understand this new operating environment and the challenges and opportunities it presents.
