In brief: Dispute resolution toolkit

Under current legislation there is no absolute mechanism for residents’ groups to complain to the Housing Ombudsman if they are in dispute with their landlord.

Although, in some cases, the Ombudsman will look at cases brought by a dedicated spokesman on behalf of a group, there is scant available information to help housing association landlords or resident groups to deal with disputes. The toolkit attempts to redress this.
