Policy areas
The Housing Corporation has four core objectives as set out in our Corporate Plan:
- More quality homes
- Improving landlord performance
- Providing expertise
- Building a can-do culture
We work within the overall policy framework set by the Government to develop policies that will help deliver these objectives.
The Corporation is also a key contributor to national and regional housing policy. We work closely with a range of other organisations including the National Housing Federation, the Chartered Institute of Housing, the Audit Commission and English Partnerships.
Our expertise and experience is based upon:
- A pivotal role in translating Government policy into delivery of housing development and services;
- Access to rich data-sets in respect of the housing association sector covering development, lettings, finance and management performance;
- A unique position in contributing to national, regional and local housing policy, including the work of Regional Housing Boards and sub-regional partnerships; and
- A tradition of evidence-based policy supported by the Innovation and Good Practice research programme
This section provides information about our core policy areas, including links to our key strategies and documents as well as access to latest research and current thinking.
